Premium skin cottage bath+scrub body bath in kiwi gold essence review

Hello Beautiful people,

I am one of those who believe in exfoliating not just the face but body too. I do it regularly without any fail and I can tell you that it does make a difference. What else you want when you get cleansing and scrubbing in one bottle.  Today’s review is dedicated to such a product.

The product that I am going to review today is a body bath + scrub named ‘Premium skin cottage bath + scrub body bath in kiwi gold essence’. The product also comes in other flavours and different sizes.

I came across this product when I was strolling along the aisles in health and glow (which I usually do as it just soothes my mind and soul when I look around at what all we have to pamper ourselves. Lucky we all!).

Let’s get started with the details now.

Price: INR 379 for 400ml. I got it from Health and Glow in Bangalore but you can also buy it online and in fact at a cheaper price after discount (you just have to be online at the right place (right site in this case) at the right time ;))

Ingredients: Aqua, sodium laureth sulphate, acrylates copolymer, cocamidopropyl  betaine (CAPB), glycerin, polyquaternium-39, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, prunus armeniaca (apricot) seed powder, parfum, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, hydrogenated jojoba oil, actinidia chinensis (kiwi) fruit extract, benzophenone-4, tocopheryl acetate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140, CI 42090.

Product description:  ‘Skin cottage body bath + scrub’ with natural apricot kernel and jojoba beads cleanses and helps remove dead skin cells. Formulated with fruit extract and scented with kiwi gold fragrance moisturises to keep skin smooth, leaving a feeling of refreshing sensation.

Packaging: The product comes in a transparent bottle with a maroon cap which is very easy to use in shower.

Texture:  It has the texture and consistency of a shower gel with granules of apricot and jojoba beads to exfoliate.

Shelf life: 3 years.

Direction to apply: We all know how to use a body wash or scrub but still it says ‘pour onto palm or wet towel/sponge, and apply onto body. Wash and rinse off.’

My experience:

I use this bath + scrub on alternate days to cleanse and scrub my body but I am sure it can be used daily as it is not at all harsh but yet doesn’t compromise with the exfoliation. 


It smells like kiwi which I love as it is quite fresh. It reminds me of kiwi mocktails and personally I do not mind if I smell like one :p. And as it says it does give a refreshing sensation. It is a good pick me up shower product to use early morning. It doesn’t dry out my skin. Thumps up! But I do need to use a moisturiser afterwards. It surely makes my skin feel soft after the use though. Yay!

It lathers up very easily. I have used it with and without loofah and it works equally good in both the cases. It is very easy to use in shower because of its cap design as shown in the picture.

One of the most important and impressing point is that it is against animal testing (no suffering. Yay! again). Double thumps up!

Let’s talk a bit about the ingredients used.  It has CAPB which is an organic compound that is derived from coconut oil. It is used to create foam but also has antiseptic properties. It also has glycerine which is very well known for its moisturising properties. Another important component mentioned is coco glucoside which is extremely gentle and eco friendly foaming cleanser that is again made by the fermentation of corn sugar and coconut. It is an amazing cleansing agent. Apricot is very good for moisturization and making skin smooth. Also, kiwi is known for giving a smooth and glowing skin.

Over all this one did not leave me disappointed and I am in love with it.

Pros:

·         It’s an amazing 2-in-1 product. It cleanses and exfoliates at the same time. It does the job well.

·         It doesn’t dry my skin out.

·         Despite of being a bath scrub it does lather up nicely.

·         It can be used with or without loofah.

·         It smells like kiwi which I personally love.

·         It does refresh and picks me up in the morning.

·         It is not at all harsh on my skin yet making my skin smooth by removing dead skin.

·         Affordable.

·         Against animal testing.

Cons:  Stated below.

·         Granules can clog the opening of the cap after few uses hence it is better to clean it after every use.

·         Availability. Health and glow is present only in south India (Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Cochin) and in Mumbai. But it can be bought online as well.

Will I repurchase it?

Already done that. I have not only bought the second bottle but also one more in another flavour which is strawberry. It works equally well but I have a soft corner for the kiwi one.

Will I recommend this to you?

Surely yes. It is an amazing product and you must own it. It does what it says and is a nice body scrub which also cleanses.
